A friend, curious about the Chinese American judge who presided over the Bernie Madoff case, decided to look up the man up. His name is Denny Chin, born in Hong Kong, raised and educated in the States, and there’s a war waging over his wikipedia entry. Over the last hour (10 pm EST) someone has been rewriting the wiki entry over and over, calling Denny Chin “Nuts” and directing really corny and racist comments his way. Meanwhile, someone else is cleaning up the mess by deleting the derogatory comments. Madoff, by the way, is the former New York financier who admitted to defrauding thousands of investors of billions of dollars. Chin convicted him today and sentenced him to 150 years in jail.

Honestly, there are too many jerks like this on the internet who like to hide behind the privacy and protection of anonymity to say rascist things or to just take advantage of other people. I’m glad there is someone who took it upon him/herself to clean it up. But it’d be nice if people had the decency to self-regulate and conduct themselves in a mature way. But then again, maybe that’s just asking for too much. And I suppose if that happened the actor for Borat would run out of awesome material for his movies.

totally agree -if these people want to air their bigoted opinions, use a personal platform, not a public resource like wikipedia
