Timmies donuts are definitely heavier, it's something I've heard from my American colleagues. A difference might be the flash freezing that Timmies has been doing over the last few years. The doughnuts aren't baked fresh as the "always fresh" motto might suggest -- they are baked, flash frozen and then shipped to the various locations to finish off the baking. @HappyTummy I think Kathy has spent a lot of time trying really gourmet doughnuts so she has set a very high bar. I'm a huge follower of Kathy's blog, and always respect her reviews, but I gotta disagree with her on these. Granted, the last time I had a Tim Horton's doughtnut was about 10 years ago when I was living in Michigan. So I guess their recipes could have changed for the worse? :) Oh gosh, I LOVE Tim Horton doughnuts…they are my favorite!
